Therapist in Sugar Land
Hello, my name is Alexa Fuentes, and I am a LPC-A, Supervised by Jackeline Hurtado, MEd, LPC-S.
I am a dedicated and compassionate counselor with a Master of Science degree from the University of Houston Victoria. With a strong educational foundation and a passion for helping others, I am committed to providing effective and meaningful counseling services.
My academic training has equipped me with a deep understanding of human behavior, psychology, and therapeutic techniques. Through my studies, I have gained valuable knowledge in areas such as cognitive-behavioral therapy, family systems theory, and trauma-informed care. This education has allowed me to develop a comprehensive approach to counseling, integrating evidence-based practices to best serve my clients.
During my time at the University of Houston Victoria, I had the opportunity to engage in practical experiences, including internships and supervised counseling sessions. These experiences have further honed my skills in building therapeutic relationships, conducting assessments, and implementing treatment plans.
As a counselor, I believe in the importance of creating a safe and non-judgmental space for clients to explore their thoughts, feelings, and experiences. I strive to establish a strong therapeutic alliance, based on trust, empathy, and collaboration. By actively listening and offering guidance, I aim to empower individuals to navigate challenges, discover their strengths, and work towards their goals.
I have a particular interest in working with clients who are experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, and life transitions. By utilizing a person-centered and strengths-based approach, I support clients in developing effective coping strategies, enhancing self-awareness, and fostering resilience.
I am dedicated to ongoing professional development, regularly attending workshops and staying informed about the latest advancements in counseling practices. My goal is to continually expand my knowledge and skills to provide the highest quality care to my clients.
It is my privilege to walk alongside individuals on their journey towards healing, growth, and well-being. I am committed to making a positive impact and helping clients achieve positive and lasting change in their lives.
In my personal life, I enjoy traveling, cooking, music, and spending time with my partner, family, and friends.
