HELLO, I AM ELIZABETH ROMO!
My name is Elizabeth Romo and I am a bilingual, Spanish and English, Counselor-in-training at District Counseling Sugar Land. I am under the supervision of Cynthia L. Rojas, MA, LPC.
I was born in Chicago and moved to Missouri City when I was 10 years old, so basically I’m a Texan now and highly allergic to the cold. I received my Bachelor of Science in Applied Learning & Development (EC-4 Bilingual Generalist) from The University of Texas in Austin in 2009. I also hold a Master’s in School Counseling from the University of St. Thomas-Houston (2013).
I have worked in school settings for 13 years, 7 years as a classroom teacher and 6 years as a Kinder-8th grade school counselor. I have a heart for working with children, adolescents, adults, and their families.
My experiences, good or bad, have shaped the person I am and believe mental health can look different for everyone. My role in creating individual change is really based on your goals. I have an immense passion in serving others and want to make sure you gain the skills to grow socially, emotionally and feel validated and empowered when it comes to difficult life situations. I am available for you and your needs and want to be a part of your healing process, in a judgment-free environment.
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, chauffeuring my sons to their sports activities, running, and listening to music.
I am excited to work with you and stand by you in your healing journey!
