Sugar Land Counselor-In-Training
My name is Ivette Aldana and I am a bilingual, in Spanish and English, counselor-in-training at District Counseling while currently pursuing my Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the University of Houston – Victoria. I am under the supervision of Cynthia L. Rojas, MA, LPC.
I graduated with my Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2018 from Texas Woman’s University. Since then, I have had the privilege of working as a labor and delivery nurse and ophthalmic circulating nurse for several years, which has given me so much exposure to a vast variety of individuals and the rapid changes that occur in their lives during transitional moments. This, along with my own personal experience and journey with counseling, sparked my passion in acknowledging and tending to emotional and mental well-being when providing care.
I recognize that life comes with many different situations and scenarios to navigate through; some of which may be challenging. My goal is to offer a safe, open, and nonjudgmental space to promote growth, mental well-being, coping skills, and healing. I operate in a collaborative, accepting, warm, and supportive manner when engaging with clients to facilitate the counseling process, self-awareness, and self-reflection.
Coming to therapy is a huge step and takes a lot of courage to start. I admire your willingness to reach out and I can’t wait to work with you!
