Qualified Mental Health Professional
My name is Ivette Aldana and I am a bilingual, in Spanish and English, QMHP at District Counseling under the supervision of Cynthia L. Rojas, MA, LPC. I earned my Master’s of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Houston – Victoria.
Aside from counseling, I graduated with my Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2018 from Texas Woman’s University. Since then, I have had the privilege of working as a labor and delivery nurse and ophthalmic nurse for several years, which has given me so much exposure to a vast variety of individuals and the rapid changes that occur in their lives during transitional moments. This, along with my own experience and journey with counseling, sparked my passion in acknowledging and tending to emotional and mental well-being when providing care.
I recognize that life comes with many different situations and scenarios to navigate through; some of which may be challenging. My goal is to offer a safe, open, and nonjudgmental space to promote growth, mental well-being, coping skills, and healing. I operate in a collaborative, accepting, warm, and supportive manner when engaging with clients to facilitate the counseling process, self-awareness, and self-reflection.
I am passionate about working with adolescents and adults to empower them in experiencing life in its entirety, whatever this means to them. Each person has their own unique sets of values, beliefs, and experiences, which I take into consideration. Throughout my counseling practice, I have worked alongside individuals (children, adolescents, and adults) through topics such as stress, anxiety, anger management, life transitions, depression, identity, self-esteem, grief, and trauma.
Coming to therapy is a huge step and takes a lot of courage to start. I admire your willingness to reach out and I can’t wait to work with you!
During my free time, I enjoy traveling, going to church, watching movies, powerlifting, and spending time with my loved ones.
