My name is Viviane Lock; I am an LPC intern. I received a Bachelor’s degree in Bilingual Education from the University of Houston and a Master’s degree in School Counseling from Lamar University. Last year I decided to shift my career and obtain my Certification in Mental Health Counseling.
I was born in Brazil and came to the U.S. as a teenager. I am fluent in English, Spanish, and Portuguese. As an immigrant, I understand the struggles of coming from a different country and the possible challenges immigrants face.
Before becoming a therapist, I worked in a school district with different populations, which helped me understand people from different backgrounds. My role as a counselor is to work with clients to provide support and understanding. The counseling experience is something very unique and personal. I will ensure that the counseling environment is safe, free of judgment and bias, loving, and welcoming. My main goal is to hear you, identify your goals, and work toward them to help you achieve positive changes. You have taken a significant step in looking for help. I look forward to working together to help you find peace in your daily life.
During my free time, I like to spend quality time with my husband and my two children. I love the outdoors and traveling.
